Community Resources: Older Drivers
FACTS ABOUT OLDER DRIVERS
If you are over 55, you are an "older driver."
As we age, our ability to deal with complex traffic situations decreases. As a consequence, older drivers are more likely to be involved in multiple-vehicle crashes at intersections, and the likelihood increases the older we become.
Older drivers are more susceptible than younger persons to medical complications following motor vehicle crash injuries. This means they are more likely to die from their injuries.
