Law Enforcement Technology Clearinghouse

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) has created a clearinghouse for identifying and documenting as many automation projects as possible on technology used in the collection of crash data. The Technology Clearinghouse was placed on-line during the fall of 1997, and it has become a leading source of information for law enforcement related technology. The IACP maintains the Clearinghouse, and information on the various projects include an explanation on how the technology helped a department's management make more informed decisions. The site is located at: http://www.IACPtechnology.org.
