II. Background

(1) STUDY. The Secretary of Transportation is required to conduct a study with States, State transportation departments, and law enforcement organizations defining the extent and effectiveness of the use of uniformed police officers on Federal-aid highway construction projects.

(2) REPORT. A report on the results of the study is to be submitted to Congress within two years of the enactment of TEA-21.
