This diagram displays recommended ideal longitudinal dimensions for splitter islands at mini-roundabouts. The splitter island should extend back from the yield line to a total distance of 45 feet (13.5 m). A pedestrian crosswalk, with a pedestrian cutout in the splitter island if it is raised, should begin at 20 feet (6 m) back from the yield line, and the crosswalk should be 10 feet (3 m) wide. The remaining length of the splitter island should extend backward for approximately 15 feet (4.5 m).
