Dear Mr. Fawley:

In our September 17 letter accepting your company's 127-mm (5 inch) case aluminum anchor base for 127-mm O.D. callbox supports, we neglected to discuss the other pole heights and wall thicknesses that you have requested to be found acceptable. Upon reviewing the report and the video of the pendulum test we conclude that the 127-mm anchor base would perform satisfactorily if used with pole wall thick nesses of 3.2 mm and 4.0 mm (0.125 inches and 0.156 inches, respectively) and with pole heights up to 7.7 m (25 feet).

In response to your recent telephone request, we have also noted an error in our September 17 letter. The Base Type should be shown as #356-T6" and a corrected first page is enclosed for your use.

All other conditions in our previous letter remain in effect.

Sincerely yours,

Lawrence A. Staron, Chief
Federal-Aid and Design Division

Please note that this is a supplement to Geometric and Roadside Design Acceptance letter Number SS-30. Please also make the correction by hand to the first page of the September 17 letter to Mr. Fawley: Where "Base Type" is described, change "356-T5 Alum. Shoe Base" to "356-T6 Alum. Shoe Base."
