Figure 3.9 is a pie chart showing the different collision types for the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Planning Commission. The pie chart shows that rear-end crashes contribute to 32.26 percent of the crashes, which is the most out of any of the other collision types. The purpose of showing the data is to demonstrate that a Regional Planning Organization can use the information to develop safety goals and objectives. For instance, a goal could be "Reduce fatalities and serious injuries that result from motor vehicle crashes," and an objective could be "Implement rear-end crash reduction strategies as identified by the Department of Transportation."
