Integrating Safety in the Rural Transportation Planning Process

Figure A.1a Vermont Highway Safety Forum Registration Flyer – Long Description

Figure A.1a shows the front of a registration flyer for a Regional Highway Safety Forum hosted by the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Planning Commission in Vermont. The purpose of the graphic is to show a sample agenda for Regional Planning Organizations wanting to host their own safety workshop. The agenda included an overview of Towards Zero Deaths, statewide initiatives, the Vermont local roads program, Department of Motor Vehicles programs, Vermont bike and pedestrian coalition, senior driver programs, crash data availability, Vermont Agency of Transportation programs, and emergency services. In addition to the educational component, the second part of the agenda included breakout discussions where participants discussed safety issues in the region, local and state resources needed to address the issues, and any challenges.
