Night-time Construction Report to Congress

Program Purpose

The SAFETEA-LU Conference Committee report directs FHWA to conduct and compile research on many aspects of night-time road construction, and report to Congress two years after passage of this legislation on the results of its research.

Funding: 

No separate funding is provided.

Implementation:

The Office of Safety will lead this effort, working with other offices as appropriate.  No research is anticipated; rather, FHWA will compile existing research, study results and best practices on night-time construction and provide a summary of findings. The report will be submitted to Congress by August 2007.
