The Strategic Highway Safety Plan Implementation Process Model

This figure shows how the State Strategic Highway Safety Plan is connected to other major transportation planning efforts. The following plans provide input to the SHSP and should be consistent with SHSP goals and objectives: Metropolitan Transportation Plans (MTP), Statewide Transportation Plan (Long Range Plan), Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan, Highway Safety Plan, Highway Safety Improvement Program, and other State Plans. The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program TIP and State STIP receive inputs from the HSIP as well as the MTP and Long Range Plan, which are linked to the SHSP.
