Strategic Highway Safety Plans: A Champion's Guidebook to Saving Lives, Second Edition

Long Description – Figure 2

Figure 2 – Diagram – This figure shows how the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) is connected to other major transportation planning efforts. The following plans provide input to the SHSP (Strategic Highway Safety Plan) and should be consistent with SHSP (Strategic Highway Safety Plan) goals and objectives: Metropolitan Transportation Plans (MTP), Statewide Transportation Plan (Long-Range Plan), Commercial Vehicle Safety Plan (CVSP), Highway Safety Plan (HSP), Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), and other State plans. The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) receive inputs from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Plans (MTP) and Long-Range Plan which are linked to the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP).
