61. Median Crossover/Left Turn Lane Type

Definition: The presence and type of crossover/left turn bay in the median along the segment. Note: This element is intended to capture the typical median characteristic along the segment at non-intersection locations. Information on intersection-related turn lanes will be coded in the Junction File.

There are five illustrations of median types in the figure labeled as follows: none; median crossover, no left turn bay; median crossover, left turn bay; median crossover, directional left turn bays (to prevent crossing traffic from driveways); and two-way left turn lane.
