Abstract Individual fact sheets for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, present the emphasis areas each state has identified in their approved Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) as part of the overall strategy to reduce fatalities and serious injuries. A snapshot of transportation safety related fatality data is shown to give the reader insight regarding fatalities in their state. Data drawn from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) show:
