Flowchart of the eight-step RSA process. For each step, the chart designates whether the audit team or the design team/project owner is responsible for that step. Step 1 is Identify project or existing road for RSA. It is the responsibility of the design team/project owner. Step 2 is Select multi-disciplinary RSA team. It is the responsibility of the design team/project owner. Step 3 is Conduct start-up meeting to exchange information. This is the responsibility of both the audit team and the design team/project owner. Step 4 is Perform field reviews under various conditions. It is the responsibility of the audit team. Step 5 is Conduct RSA analysis and prepare report of findings. It is the responsibility of the audit team. Step 6 is Present RSA findings to Project Owner/Design Team. It is the responsibility of the both the audit team and design team/project owner. Step 7 is Project Owner/Design Team prepares formal response. It is the responsibility of the design team/project owner. Step 8 is Incorporate findings into project when appropriate. It is the responsibility of the both the audit team and design Team/project owner.
