Long Description
The CMF for the right shoulder width (HSM equation 19-35, p.19-48) is calculated as follows:
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a site of type w, cross section x, crash type y, and severity z equals the exponential of the product of the paved right shoulder width minus 8 and a. (HSM Table 19-26, p.19-49)
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a C-D road, one lane, multi-vehicle, and fatal and injury severity equals the exponential of the product of 10 minus 8 and -0.0539.
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a C-D road, one lane, multi-vehicle, and fatal and injury severity equals 0.897.
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a C-D road, one lane, multi-vehicle, and property damage only severity equals the exponential of the product of 10 minus 8 and -0.0259.
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a C-D road, one lane, multi-vehicle, and property damage only severity equals 0.949.
- The crash modification factor for right shoulder width on a C-D road, one lane, single-vehicle, and fatal and injury severity equals the exponential of the product of 10 minus 8 and -0.0539.
