Scale and Scope of Safety Assessment Methods in the Project Development Process
Long Description
The number of total crashes for rural two-lane undivided roadway segments is calculated as:
- Average total crash frequency for rural two-lane undivided roadway equals the product of the AADT and the length of segment and 365 and 10 raised to the power -6 and the exponential of -0.312. (HSM Equation 10-6, p. 10-15.)
- Average total crash frequency for rural two-lane undivided roadway equals the product of 11,000 and 0.5 and 365 and 10 raised to the power -6 and the exponential of -0.312 equals 1.469 (Answer (Total Crashes)).
