Figure 3.1 shows a bar chart showing the number of states (and percentage of questionnaire responses) with local road safety set-asides for the HSIP, HRRRP, State funds, and other Federal funds in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In 2009 10 states (26%) set aside HSIP funds, 13 states (34%) set aside HRRRP funds, 2 states (5%) set aside State funds, and 2 states (5%) set aside other Federal funds for local road safety projects. In 2010, 11 states (29%) set aside HSIP funds, 13 states (34%) set aside HRRRP funds, 3 states (8%) set aside State funds, and 3 states (8%) set aside other Federal funds for local road safety projects. In 2011, 12 states (32%) set aside HSIP funds, 13 states (34%) set aside HRRRP funds, 4 states (11%) set aside State funds, and 4 states (11%) set aside other Federal funds for local road safety projects.
