Long Description: County Road Safety Plan Process

Diagram lays out the activities undertaken as part of theCounty Road Safety Plan development process. The activities are described in a month-by-month format.

Beginning in Month 1 and spanning through month 4, each county analyzed crash data using MnCMAT filters. At the conclusion of this month, a kick-off video conference was conducted.

During Month 5, counties selected Safety Emphasis areas. These include:

At the conclusion of month 6, a review meeting was held.

Month 6 activities supported development of a comprehensive list of safety strategies. A workshop was launched to:

Month 7 activities involved identifying a short list of critical strategies which were based on crash analysis and workshop results. The counties selected which strategies to apply.

During month 8, safety projects were identified. Roads with highest risk assessments were evaluated and assigned a safety project.

At the conclusion of month 8, a review meeting was held.
