SAFETEA-LU

On August 10, 2005, President Bush signed into law the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). This law established extensive new resources and opportunities to advance highway safety throughout the country in a comprehensive, strategic manner. The Office of Safety is very encouraged by the opportunity this legislation offers for saving lives and reducing injuries on our Nation's highways.
